A GREAT RECIPE FOR THE NEW YEAR!

Posted on Jan 10th, 2009 by Carolyn : A time to relax Carolyn
1. Take a 10-30 minute walk every day. And while you walk, smile. It is the ultimate anti-depressant.

2. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day. Talk to God about what is going on in your life.

3. When you wake up in the morning complete the following statement, 'My purpose is to__________ today. I am thankful for______________'.

4. Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less food that is manufactured in plants.

5. Drink green tea and plenty of water. Eat blueberries, wild Alaskan salmon, broccoli , almonds & walnuts.

6. Try to make at least three people smile each day.

7. Don't waste your precious energy on gossip, energy vampires,Issues of the past, negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment.

8. Eat breakfast like a king, lunch l ike a prince and dinner like a college kid with a maxed out charge card.

9. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.

10. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.

11. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.

12. You are not so important that you have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.

13. Make peace with your past so it won't spoil the present.

14. Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.

15. No one is in charge of your happiness except you.

16. Frame every so-called disaster with these words: 'In five years, will this really matter?'

17. Forgive everyone for everything.

18. What other people think of you is none of your business.

19. GOD heals everything - but you have to ask Him.

20. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.

21. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends will. Stay in touch!

22. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.

23. Each night before you go to bed complete the following statements: I am thankful for__________. Today I accomplished_________.

24. Remember that you are too blessed to be stressed.

25. When you are feeling down, start listing your many blessings. You'll be smiling before you know it.

Discover A Spiritual Awakening Journey

Posted on Jan 5th, 2009 by Carolyn : A time to relax Carolyn

Discovering your spiritual path usually isn't based on simply finding your personal path. Wouldn't it be nice if it were that easy? Ah, but then you'd miss the adventure of self-discovery. Most people have taken a side road-probably several side roads-before discovering that centered, calm space that resonates deeply with their soul spirit and personal path. That space where you simply know you've found it-whatever "it" is-and feel at ease, balanced and content: that's where your spiritual path will take you.

It's this spiritual journey that requires your attention, not the destination. Discovering your spiritual path isn't something you can put on a ‘to do' list-Tuesday: discover spiritual purpose in life-but you can make it easier to chance upon or stumble into your spiritual path. You can heighten the probability of finding that calm, centered personal space with a few simple techniques.

First, quit worrying about whether or not you have discovered your spiritual path. Anxiety and fear only serve to move you further away from that very path your soul is seeking. Spending time wondering whether you're on your spiritual path cheats you of this moment on your spiritual journey. And this moment is part of your spiritual path. Actually, the present moment, your spiritual journey, IS your spiritual path. The rest is simply details.

Naturally you wonder about these details-whether you should live in a certain place, take a particular job, study a particular religion or philosophy, stop or continue your educational endeavors, or stay in a relationship with someone. Always pay attention to your inner sense, your intuition, about what is right for you and your soul spirit when it comes to those details. And don't forget to use your common sense, too.

With practice, you'll learn to access and apply that inner voice, your intuition, in decision-making, along with those other handy tools like common sense, logic and analysis. Learning to listen to your inner voice and tuning out your own emotional chatter and the well-meaning advice of others isn't easy. But you'll find yourself on a far less stressful spiritual path if you put what feels best to you on a gut level-an intuitive level-first.

Second, meditate on your choices. Meditation is powerful. Ponder the possibilities. Allow yourself to imagine what your ideal life would involve so you can discover your spiritual path. If you still remain completely baffled about the ‘right' choice, do nothing for a while. Allowing things to unfold is fine-as long as you're not avoiding what you sense, deep down, is the right (and probably more difficult) choice and allow your spiritual journey to progress.

Be kind to yourself as you seek your unique spiritual path. Pay attention to your soul spirit as you search. Give yourself time when you need it. Don't rush. Savor the process. It's the spiritual journey after all, not the destination, that's important. Otherwise, it'd be called a spiritual destination, not a spiritual path.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
All things are made of energy...different forms none to be fearful of. An unbeneficial energy is not necessarily bad...it is just energy. There is a place for this energy her for us to learn that we all need to see. The energy may simply exist for you because there is something that you are holding on to that draws this to you, for your own spiritual growth.
The energy of the universe is a very powerful thing and we create everything in our lives...If we have drama then we have drawn it to ourselves.  We are like beacons and when it is time to bring our next issue to the surface, something in our surroundings comes to us that will effectively bring emotion to the surface to be released.  We have two choices when it happens...we can get caught up in the emotion of it all or take a step back and look at from a place of emotional detachment and ask ourselves what is happening right here right now.  What is the bigger picture, so that I may learn what this is about, so that I do not have this coming up again for me?
We want that deep sensual unconditional love from our partners...
Posted on Oct 29th, 2008 by Carolyn : A time to relax Carolyn
We have a number of soul mates in every lifetime.  Some times we are parent and child sometimes we are spouses', siblings, best friends, or worst enemies...etc... Other times we are strangers searching for the one. When we all feel this connection it is often confused with the love we are looking for in this life.  As the divorce rate grows we align ourselves to moving faster thru our mission.  We seem to be clearing out our soul contracts and Karma faster to move forward.  We have set our divine plan in place before we are conceived and our soul enters our new life form to reach our purpose.
If we move forward and our frequency no longer resonates with them it is time to move on.  The ex's are there to move us thru that part of our life and they either move with us or not.  If not we no longer feel the responsibility to carry them with us then the relationship will grow apart.  The divorce rate just shows us that we are no longer willing to stay complacent, we have to move on.
We want that deep sensual unconditional love from our partners; the kind that involves giving and receiving not just giving and taking.  That happens so many times but one can only give so long before they are burnt out.
The hard lessons that we have to learn while on our path are placed there by us.  Some can only learn a specific lesson in a certain way.  When we do not listen to our guidance and ignore the signs this itself causes the universe to intervene.  When this occurs the lesson is hard and often painful in a lot of different ways.  Then followed by the words ‘I wish I would have listened to myself' or ‘I knew that was going to happen and paid no attention'.
We have all different kinds of soul relationships...some friends...relatives...strangers.  It is all a matter of learning about our own energy and inner knowledge that helps us to tell the difference.  Just because the energy is familiar does not make it positive and if it is unfamiliar does not make it negative.  Rely on your senses to tell the difference, learning by trial and error slows down the process.  Always trust your inner guidance, if it is a hard lesson you are guided to then that is the way you chose to learn it.
We can put it all into practice by getting in touch with our higher selves and living a positive life.  Being grateful to those that are here to help us along our path; when nothing but good comes from us then nothing but good will comes to us.
Be the change you wish to see in the world and our world changes around us to align with our new energies.
In love and light to all,
Carolyn
Some things to consider about your teachers...
Posted on Oct 27th, 2008 by Carolyn : A time to relax Carolyn
Here are some things to consider before plunging into a teacher or system:
1: Preoccupation with money and material. This is a controversial point. The argument goes that a spiritual teacher provides a service, like a plumber, so deserves to be compensated. Also, if the disciples pay the teacher, then the teacher can spend more time helping them. My retort: if a person has had a complete realization, the idea of asking someone to pay to speak with you is ludicrous. It is reasonable to ask people to help pay to rent a room, or help with travel expenses, or buy a book.
We do not have to expect our teacher to live as a monk, yet a preoccupation with "big cigars and motor cars" is cause for concern. We know all too well of the stories of fancy cars, wild parties, country estates, and big bank accounts. Seen with your own eyes, such behavior is unexcusable. Why? Because a spiritual realization doesn't plunge you further into this dream world.
2: Secrecy when there is no threat. You may be required to pass certain tests before meeting a group or teacher. In free countries, this sort of activity is indicative of paranoia (delusions of importance) or criminal intent. An inaccesible teacher is of little use to you, as are promises of future meetings once you've proven your worth.
3: The founder or teacher's depth of spiritual realization. Why undertake a system which has not worked for its founder? For example, I know of no Vipassana meditation teacher making claims to a complete spirtual realization. If none of the teachers have reached a final realization, then why should I pin my hopes upon this system working for me? Which is not to say that Vipassana is not worth looking into and using as part of one's path, if it appeals to you.
4: Ritual. Most groups will have some ritual, perhaps as simple as having tea after a meeting. Ritual is a way of rememberance, technique to achieve a mood, and show of community. However, ritual can be an effective gloss over lack of substance. And no ritual is holy in and of itself. Beware too much emphasis on robes and letters (holy texts), insistance on particular postures, or titles and chains of command.
5: An abundance of successors. A good example of this is the ever expanding lineage of many American Zen teachers. None of the teachers I consider authentic appointed a successor. Which is not to discount that there were others influenced by their teachings who attained a realization. A gaggle of appointed successors reveals a teacher concerned with creating a lineage and a monument to their self. Or it points to a relatively shallow depth of realization that is easily attained. Even our plumber has limited apprentices capable of becoming worthy masters.
6: Appeals to your weakness. A group or teacher that allows you to believe rather than discover for yourself, or dally with endless theories if you are of a scientific bent. Offers a method that appeals to laziness: enlightenment in a weekend, or in five minute a day lessons. Claims there is nothing for you to do, so simply sit back and relax. Gives you license to do as thou wilt, because you are a superior or karma-free being.
Here is set of reasonable criteria suggested by a friend:
1. Popularity. Teachers with the most visibility are generally the ones with the largest followings, which probably means that they are putting together a package for mass consumption -- and thus something inoffensive and reinforcing of current beliefs rather than something that challenges us to wake up and find the truth.
2.Vocabulary. Teachers who speak simply, using their own words, are more likely to be speaking from profound realization than are polished orators or wordsmiths. And if the speaker cites one document as bearing final authority, run the other way. This is a fanatic, not a Light-bearer.
3. Know-it-all. A teacher who has an answer for every question may be a clever concept mechanic or engineer. Honest teachers don't hesitate to admit to what they don't know. On the other hand, if the teacher doesn't demonstrate a conviction about knowing something for sure, then that person may still be mired in conceptual speculation.
4. Fearless. A person who has died while living would be fearless, but not foolhardy, in the face of death. If a teacher evidences fear of death -- or fear of speaking his mind plainly, or doesn't know "whither" he goes at death, then it may be a case of the blind leading the blind.
5. Non-promoter. Is the teacher interested in selling books, tapes, CDs, seminars, and so forth? In creating an organization that promotes products and beliefs? To be successfully marketed, the products have to appeal to a broad audience and thus have to be soothing rather than challenging. A real teacher is not out to make a big splash or to leave a monument to an illusory self.
6. Paradox. If a teacher doesn't exhibit a profound sense of paradox -- of seeming contradictions that may nevertheless be true -- then he may still be stuck in relativity. The true teacher has traveled "beyond opinion." On the other hand, a clever impostor can hide behind paradoxical double-talk, so there's no substitute for intuitional accuracy on the part of the seeker.
7. Understands the pervasive fooling of the mind by the mind. True teachers understand the workings of the mind -- by having arrived at a point of view superior to the mind. They are thus able to point at a solution beyond that of trying to find temporary peace or happiness within the mind.
8. Humor. A humorless teacher is someone who takes himself seriously -- which means he doesn't know himself. A true teacher helps us see the apparent absurdity of the human condition and yet act in the face of it. On the other hand, if a teacher doesn't take the pursuit of truth seriously, then he must not have found something of permanent value.
9. Love of truth. A person who has discovered his true nature is probably someone who couldn't settle for conventional beliefs and herd conditioning and thus was unwilling to stop short of total Truth. And having found it, he places no value higher than It.
10. No religion higher than friendship. The flowering of the human condition is the impersonal friendship that transcends personal love, where two or more people are able to relax their ego-demands in favor of a larger good. If a teacher's direction, either explicitly or through group pressure, is to split a person from friends and loved ones who don't share the new paradigm, beware of brainwashing. On the other hand, the people we spend time with influence our lives, so we need to use discernment in our relationship with friends who may encourage behavior we'd like to move away from.
This period of increased sensitivity to the earth vibration's...
Posted on Oct 26th, 2008 by Carolyn : A time to relax Carolyn
Approximately two weeks ago a gateway opened in the Zodiac of Scorpio. This gateway is to bring new energies that are clearing out old thought process and this will bring about physical symptoms. These symptoms will vary among different humans. I have found that if I align with these energies on a conscious level that the symptoms will move right thru. I had an OBE while driving recently and that can be very scary and cause severe panic within.
What ever you have released with this new energy... relationship, material goods, self defeating habits...will soon be replaced with something or someone more suitable for who you are presently.
The lighter we get...the lighter we get...the lighter we get. The energies feel more intense to some because of their recent releasing and they feel the energies at a different level of awareness and much stronger. This can make our physical bodies feel heavy and can cause physical illness if we do not align with it right away.
As the energy comes to you tell yourself that you align with the energy only if it is in your own highest good that you accept the gifts that the universe brings and thank spirit for allowing you to be apart of the divine plan. Do some breathing as you feel the energy move thru you. Not aligning can cause physical pain for some that will come in the form of shooting pains, migraines, muscle aches, nausea and dizziness to name a few.
During this time your dreams can be keeping you from restful sleep. Ask, as you lay down, to align with the energy that is coming in and that you wake relaxed and refreshed from the experience. As we all know our dreams can be symbolic or literal. The dreams that we are processing right now are made up of both....which can cause confusion on the meanings. If you are processing your dreams in waking state and some part of it doesn't fit you may have had a mixture of the two in one dream.
You will also find that your taste in food is changing to align with your new lighter energy. This means you will now not eat things that you have always had a taste for and find that some types of food will not align with this new energy that you have received. These foods can also cause a very physical reaction where it did not in the past. Allow your body to tell you what it needs in this time of transition. It may need more food than normal due to your eating habits or you may find that you need less food. What I have found that works best when appetite is changing is to listen to your body. When it is full then stop...if it is hungry then eat. We are brought up to eat 3 times a day at certain times of the day...this too may no longer work for you. You may feel hungry at noon try to eat and are repelled by the thought of food even though you feel hunger. This is very normal for the reconstructing that is occurring within. Pay close attention to your body's response when you eat certain foods, this will help you thru this transition also.
A lot of the panic we are feeling is not even our panic...it is the panic all around. Being effected by the energy that coming to us from all different directions at this intense time can be overwhelming, if there is anything that brings me away from my state of Grace I know right away it is not mine. Often just recognizing it when it happens is enough for it to stop. As we feel the energies around us we must stay in our own power and energy not to be affected by others.
If there are any question that you may have please reach out...understanding is really the only battle.
You may feel the need for solitude, away from other people and the usual noise that surrounds you. You may find that you have closed yourself up in your bedroom not knowing why or feel the need to be one with nature. This is our sub-conscious at work helping us thru this time. This period of increased sensitivity to the earth vibration's and those of collective human conscious, which you'll first feel as sensations in your body prior to the emotions that will follow. Our goal is to be emotionally detached from the energy so that it moves right thru and washes out the old energies that no longer serve. You may find that you are driven to clean out every corner of your house. This is an outward symptom of what is going on internally. Very cleansing time for all. Some just want to go sit in woods and let nature help us thru.
Most important of all during this time is to follow your guidance; this is a period where trust and faith in your own capabilities is necessary. Choose your thoughts wisely at this time and do not put any energy into fears. It is a time of very rapid manifestation...out of these changes only good will come.
May the frequency of Grace wash your energy with it's loving warmth,
Carolyn
Melissa's Green Peppers
Posted on Sep 3rd, 2008 by Carolyn : A time to relax Carolyn
The things I do not understand are the limits that humans put upon their-selves and those around them.  I hear my clients say that letting go is the hardest thing to do....It is not till they reach out and embrace that they realize that the harder of the two things is actually not letting go.
We are all tied together thru our feelings and emotions....We are all one...  If we allow others to reach us thru the emotions we have lost all real prospective in the situation.  When it comes to others people it is not about you...It is about them.  We all feel more and perceive more than we realize...We are like wi fi...
I was making dinner the other night and I was on the phone with my girl friend we were chatting and solving the worlds prolbems.  I was talking with my husband about what we were having for dinner that night...we decided on making stuffed bell peppers.
I was almost done with the preparation of the food and stop to ask myself what in the world I was doing preparing these peppers in the manner that I did.  It was unlike anytime I had ever made them.  I got to talking with my friend the next day and she just busted out laughing!  She proceeded to tell me that ... that was how she makes them and while Ron and I were discussing dinner she was envisioning making them the exact way I actually prepared them.
We are constantly creating...you need to ask yourself...What am I creating for myself with my thoughts?
My visit from Uncle Au~tie
Posted on Jul 4th, 2008 by Carolyn : A time to relax Carolyn
At the first part of the year I had a visit from my great Uncle Au-tie...When his energy came to me it told me that the end of his time here grew near.  I called my mom and asked her to check in on him and told about the experience I had had with him.  He was the last of her dads brothers left alive, they had a close bond.
Yesterday his energy came to me again.  I did not recognize it at first but he clearly let me know right away by bringing pictures to my minds eye.  Again his energy told me that his time was near, he was at peace and ready to go home. I felt his joy and he was happy. It was a wonderful experience to feel his joy and share those moments with him.  I did not call my mother this time and let her know that he had been here.  I upset her the first time...I am not sure of the time of death...he was here between 6:30-7pm as close as i can recall.  I have no idea how long the experience lasted but it will live within me forever.  I feel blessed and honored that he came to me to help ease the families pain.
My mom calls me today to tell me of his passing...yesterday.  I then told her about his visit with me yesterday.  I felt her sadness and told her of the message that he left and I could not allow myself to feel the sadness of of her heart because I felt the joy in his.
At this time she shared with me that the first time I had told her of him coming was the first day he was put into a nursing home.  Looking back I can see that his first message was to prepare mom for his upcoming passing and saying good-bye.  I had no idea how long it would be before his passing when he came either time he let his self be known.  The message was almost the same both times. The feelings I experienced from him were different.  The first time his energy was sad...I felt a very heavy weight on my chest and my breath got short.  The second time he felt no pain...heart full of unconditional love and pure joy.  The words though almost the same had a completely different meaning.  We must all come to this to find peace...to let go of the burdens we have chosen to carry...they weight us down so energetically...most do not even realize the weight of our worries and hurts.
He also brings a message to all...do not wait to the last moment to find your peace...that is not living...find your peace now and live out the rest of your life there.
I thank you Uncle Au~tie for your visit and the message that you bring.
Unfolding The Rosebud
Posted on Feb 16th, 2008 by Carolyn : A time to relax Carolyn
Unfolding The Rosebud
It is only a tiny rosebud,
A flower of GOD'S design,
But I cannot unfold the petals
With these clumsy hands of mine.
The secret of unfolding flowers Is not
Known to such as I.
GOD opens this flower so sweetly,
When in my hands they fade and die.
If I cannot unfold a rosebud,
This flower of GOD'S design,
Then how can I think I have wisdom
To unfold this life of mine?
So I'll trust in Him for His leading
Each moment of every day.
I will look to Him for guidance
Each step of the pilgrim way.
The pathway that lies before me,
Only my Heavenly Father knows.
I'll trust Him to unfold the moments,
Just as He unfolds the rose.
As we move thru each others lives....
Posted on Feb 3rd, 2008 by Carolyn : A time to relax Carolyn
We come to realize that we must give and receive. Sometimes our paths take us along parallel but separate roads of travel; everyone has to experience things in their own way.
Realize…. that even though you both may part for a while does not under any conditions mean that you will not come together again down the road when your paths meet back up. Some people come into our lives only for a short time and change us forever,
then some never leave.
Realize.... that we are all one and that your time together if even for a short time was for a reason; helping both to grow in the way
that was needed for both.
Realize.... that when the time comes you will be together again, if truly meant to be. Learning to let go and release them from a conditional relationship allows them to feel you’re unconditional
Love for them.
Knowing…… that if it meant to be, you will cross paths again and it will be welcome when they are ready.
As we move thru each others lives....
Earthdweller's Candles & Lip Balm
Posted on Jan 29th, 2008 by Carolyn : A time to relax Carolyn
I received a candle and lip balm from Shannon and want everyone to know about them.
The candle arrived and it is beautiful!  The sweet loving energy from which it was created emits all throughout my home.  Very high quality, beautiful and unique with a heavenly aroma.  You can just feel the love by which it came to be.
The lip balm is excellent!  I have looked far and wide for something that would keep my lips moist.  I have bought expensive remedies that the skiers use in the abrasive, cold climates that work well but Shannon's balm works better than those.
The energy work that I do causes dehydration and I am constantly adding balm to my lips and drinking lots of water.  With just a couple of applications with Shannon's balm my lips no longer dry out while I am working and last throughout the day!
I thank you Shannon!!!
